About the Role:

As a Data Engineer in Operations, you will be responsible for maintaining, monitoring, and troubleshooting scalable data pipelines across platforms like Azure Databricks, Hadoop, and Radium. You will ensure operational stability, implement best practices, and work in collaboration with other engineering teams to support production environments.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Provide operational support for data pipelines in Azure Databricks, Hadoop, and Radium.
• Collaborate with engineering and platform teams to define SLAs and operational standards.
• Implement and manage monitoring, alerting, and logging systems.
• Develop and maintain runbooks and SOPs for issue resolution.
• Manage incident lifecycles including RCA and resolution.
• Handle deployments, rollbacks, and CI/CD processes via Azure DevOps.
• Monitor and validate data quality and completeness.
• Work with infrastructure teams to solve platform and pipeline issues.
• Provide mentoring and technical guidance to junior team members.
• Automate tasks using Scala and Python.
• Participate in continuous improvement and post-incident reviews.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field
• Minimum 3 years of experience in data engineering and operations
• Hands-on experience with Azure Databricks and Spark cluster environments
• Strong scripting skills in Scala/Python
• Familiarity with cloud storage and data services (e.g., Delta Lake, ADLS)
• Experience with Kafka and real-time streaming pipelines
• Working knowledge of Azure Data Factory and CI/CD tools like Azure DevOps
• Proficiency in monitoring tools like Splunk, ELK, Grafana
• Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills
• Understanding of data governance, compliance, and security standards in cloud environments
• Excellent communication and ability to work under pressure
• Business-level proficiency in English
• Familiarity with collaborative tools like MS Teams, Azure Boards, and JIRA
